About the Founder

Founded by Scott Armusewicz, Merit Builders provides large-scale restoration and custom home construction with small town, traditional values. Mr. Armusewicz's passion for construction began at the age of 13 when he worked for his Grandfather and Uncle in the custom floor finishing business. This experience led him to pursue his own carpentry contracting company at the age of 19. In 1995 he joined a custom home building firm to aid with their high-end projects and soon became a full partner in the firm until his founding of Merit Builders in 2010. Scott has worked in the luxury home business for more than 20 years and is most known for his personalized approach and reliable services. He has aided and spearheaded numerous distinct home projects in the Hamptons and East End of Long Island, ranging from modest cottages to homes in excess of 25,000 square feet. 

Mr. Armusewicz provides hands on supervision and works closely with architects, designers, and his clients to ensure that each project meets the clients’ unique needs and style. His years of experience and relationships with quality sub-contractors guarantee that the complex logistics, scheduling, detailing, and most importantly, client expectations, are met.
